200 yards. I realize that it is a lot easier to kill paper targets than an elk...wish us luck Wink

There are some handguns for it but no, mine is a rifle. It's 45-70. It will deliver a 400-grain bullet downrange at almost twice the speed of sound (more than 2000 FPS). The rifle I got is a Marlin 1895 Guide Gun. It's a lever-action with a short 18-inch ported barrel. I have yet to shoot it, but am sure glad that I reload - ammo costs between $35 and $150 for a box of 20.
