Cyclegear has Pirelli Diablos on sale for 200 bucks a set.  Has anyone used this tire?  Good or bad?  I'm more concerned with grip not outright tire longevity  Evil  I usually run Michelin Pilot Powers but the price on the Diablos looks promising.

I like them.  For that price I'm buying some.

Cher
Which diablos are you looking at for $200 a set? I'm having trouble locating them on the CG website...can you please post a link?

I have noticed they do have good sale prices on tires occasionally, like mid-winter and mid-summer. I have bought my last two sets of tires on-line from CG, and they arrived fast.

I think this might be the item, a set of Diablo SuperSports as follows:

"Add a 120/70-17 front and a 180/55-17 rear to your shopping cart and get the pair for only $189.99!
Add a 120/70-17 front and a 190/50-17 rear to your shopping cart and get the pair for only $199.99"

They look a lot like the Metzler RoadTec Z6, which is not surprising considering they are both made by Metzler in Germany. I had a set of Z6s on a R1100S that were decent tires.

Yep, you are correct.  I've got a set ready to be installed tomorrow.  Not quite as aggressive a tread pattern as I would have wanted - prefer mine to look as close to a set of slicks as possible  Evil  - but I've never used Pirellis and the price was right.  We'll see  Dolph

Have had these tires and seemed to work well.
