has anyone actually done this?  i bought a set of really nice forged marchesinis from another forum and the seller stated (i asked a number of times) that it was a 5.5 rear.  they show up yesterday and . . . . not quite.  he's cool, made a stupid mistake said send em back, he'll refund, blah blah BUT, i really like them.  anyone actually ever use a 6" rear on an S*R?  i've read the threads about it but haven't heard anyone chime in that has actually done it.  i wanna run a 180 on a 6" wheel - does this unicorn exist?  Grin

I had a 6" wide forged mag wheel on my s4rt.  Needed to be careful with the rear sprocket selection, and/or run a spacer (which I still have for sale btw) to make room.

My 5.75 wheel has been at eccentric positions 8 to 5 o'clock with no swingarm clearance issues, so that part of it might not be a problem.

The spacer put my wheel waaay out to the right side - I ditched the spacer because of that.

My rim has a M5 190/55 and it's pretty close to the chain (6-7-8mm), but hasn't touched yet. Different tires might have different shapes/profiles, so I guess there's no way of knowing until ......

wouldn't the spacers compromise front and rear alignment in that it will shift the rear wheel of to the right a bit?

Dunno.

The eccentric is supposed to be kept between 6 and 9 oclock.  I didn't notice anything, but I wasn't racing the bike either.

Yes, but it's not certain that it will be off.
Maybe it's not perfectly aligned today.
If not - the spacer can either correct it OR make it worse.....
