So i was  lookin to put new tripples and clamp ons on my 696 and was wondering, not being 100% bike tech savy, is there any issues w/ alighnment like on a car when i take the old parts off amd install the new?

As I understand it, there shouldn't be any such issues.
The lower triple hold the forks in their correct position.

Steering stem nut must be torqued correctly to put just the right amount of pressure on the two steering head bearings.

You should also find a way to mount the two clip ons at the same sweep angle.

Hopefully I'm not too far off here.

On the 696 you shouldn't have to remove the steering stem nut for the top triple.  [thumbsup]

One problem you will run into is that the headlight is attached to the stock triple. You'll have to come up with some sort of bracket or spacers to get it back to the correct height on an aftermarket triple. If you a search a couple of members have posted their solutions.

Looks like you're well on your way to a C-.

Good luck with the clip-ons.
