There's no way to fairly judge a contest like this.

Either it's people choice, or expert's choice. And frankly, each has their limitations.

My main gripes with voting are..

1. There wasn't a set timeline for voting, which caused very skewed results. Some people had their bikes up for voting for several months, while some less than a month. There should of been a deadline for entries, and then voting started then... Allowing everyone who entered a fair time to gather votes... Someone with their bike on there for 20 days did not stand a chance against someone who's bike was on here 90 days, even if the bike was better and gathering votes faster.

2. The bike with the top votes in the amateur section, looked the furthest from being an amateur bike, it definitely looks like it belonged in the pro category.

So you're ragging on someone because they did a clean job? God the jealousy is hilarious. Mind you, I think that a stretched out "thing" shouldn't have won, but I would've voted for Raux's with a clean conscience.  The guy who won put a shit ton of work into his bike and had enough attention to detail that made it look very good.

There were other I wouldve chosen above yours as well, like the guy with the SSS.

I do agree with your complaints about the voting, however.

raux wasnt eligible as the bike wasnt in the us

and i think it's supposed to stand for "mighty duc"

and... i still think it's a travesty that a bike with just a corse skin on it is in second place.

I'm not ragging on the bike and I'm not jealous. But it doesn't look amateur, far from it. Just making an observation. I appreciate the craftmanship and the skill, but it appeared far above and beyond an amateur level of modification.

I would of voted for it above any of the other bikes, because it is custom.
Anyone can buy some parts and bolt them on. A SSS is a generally easy mod, it's just swapping parts... It looks nice, but so do some new tank skins, and shiny anodized parts. But IMO doesn't require skill, time, effort, and ingenuity.

That winning bike has taken a lot of time, effort and skill to make. Raux's bike also shows that he has skill, has put in a ton of effort, and has done unique mods...

However, that winning bike looks far from amateur. I don't know the guy or know the details on his bike, but it's obvious his skill is not amateur. That's all I'm saying

Jealousy has nothing to do with it- a fair shake at voting could have been afforded to all entrants by having an entry period followed by a voting period.

Additionally- his bike LOOKS professional because it was PROFESSIONALLY built- the owner admits that himself.  It may be in a gray area in the entry rules, but kind of goes against the spirit of the competition to just throw money at a builder and have them give you a bike...

So, El Matador, not sure why having an issue with the voting process means that you are jealous about other peoples entries...

Thanks for the feedback guys. I did make a mistake though. The contest officially ends on Sunday. If you’re not happy with who is up top, vote for the others. The more people that vote, the more likely the cream will rise to the top.

I am registered and logged in... the link on the "vote" image is just a link to the image.
Maybe I'm just an idiot... I find that site very difficult and confusing.
