New thread alert emails don't say who started the thread

When I am subscribed to a forum and I receive a "new topic" email from the board, it gives me the content of the message but doesn't tell me who started the thread.  Can that setting be changed?

When someone replies to a thread I'm subscribed to, the notification tells me who replied.

Not without re-writing software.

There's no easy button.

I'll check to see if a modification has been written.

The only thing I found was a modification that sends a 'Facebook' type notification.

Not being a user of Facebook I have no idea if that will make things any better.

Can you post up what one looks like?

After looking a little closer, that mod is for on screen notification not email notification.

I think we're SOL.
