This guy.... the road was flooded already, and he just had to get to Wendy's. Probably the only road flooded in the area.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Was the Wendy's even open?

So I guess Pepco really was ready.  Kind of ironic, seeing how I was without power for sixteen hours.   [laugh]

Power went off here at about 330 AM and finally came back on around 3-4pm.  We left to to go to my son's birthday party, but it was easily 12+ hours of no juice.

We're going to get a full house generator before winter.  It's ridiculous how much the power goes out.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

You should give me the generator you have now.   ;D

You don't want it.  It's just a pos 900/1200 w that I bought from Harbor Freight about 10 years ago.  I jury-rigged a bypass on my breaker box so I can plug it right in.  I have it going into the circuit for the fridge and for the furnace fan.  Doesn't help in summer cause the ac compressor needs about 30 amp but in winter, the gas furnace just needs about 4-5 amps to blow and the fridge only needs 6.

My bypass cost me $5 to make and takes no time at all.

I'd be happy with something that will keep the beer cold.

Pick up a few bags of ice and a large bucket.. fill with salt, water and ice..  it will stay cold for about 2 days.

I think the national hurricane center and the Weather Channel use the same meteorologists we have here in Dallas/Ft.Worth. Every time there is a "major" storm brewing (and it doesn't matter if it's a winter or summer storm!) they act like it's the end of the world and stop all normal TV programming for hours on end to show you radar loops and tell everyone to take cover. You'd think a tornado like the one that hit poor Joplin, MO happened here about 10-15 times a year! [bang] You keep yelling wolf over and over again at some point folks are just going to stop listening. And the one time when they really do need to take cover, get milk and tuna sandwiches, etc. they won't even bother turning the TV on because they know the TV weather depts. will just preempt all their favorite shows!
