Ohlins upgrade- do I have everything I need before I take her apart?

Shes mostly done...other than the rod knock that developed! SON OF A pregnant dog! Siiiiiiince the heads are coming off anyway and going out to get bored for the FBF 1080 big bore kit and I'll have a bit of down time...
I thought I might dig into the "my bike handles like crap issue". I obtained the front end from a 1098R...Go big or go home, right?!
I got the:
Ohlins forks (with under 1000 miles)
axle and spacers (assuming some machining will be needed)
left and right mono block calipers
stock rotors
I know I need to either get the complete triple from Speedymoto or at least the over sized top clamp. my wallet hasn't made the decision yet yet on that. I was also gunna pick up a set of masters from an 848/1098 just to make sure those mono blocks don't go to waste!
Can anyone tell me what else I might need. I sorta recall a spacing issue on the rotors?

most likely you'll need 15mm offset on the rotors.
you said stock. as in stock 1098R or your Monster?
1098 should be the 15mm, the Monster 6bolt are 10 or less depending on year
i said most likely, should, depending... cause i don't know crap
the ohlins of the 1098R I think are like 53/56mm on the triples. measure for SURE
also, can't remember, but I think i've seen special fenders for them as spacing might be different.

Sorry,
yeah, stock rotors from the 1098R. I did measure the fender mounts too...I'll need to take my fender hoop to my fab guy and get it tweeked a little too...like 3-4mm difference in mounting points vs the Ohlins.
My Monster is a 2007 S2r1000 if that helps.

they are likely then the 330mm rotors. there should be 5mm spacers for mounting the calipers on the forks.
also, rotors are 5bolt. are you running 5bolt wheels?

Damn...didn't think about the number of mounting points on the Rotors...they came as part of the package, so I might just have to have something aftermarket for the swap in the rotor department. I don't know if the stock rotors are worth swapping wheels...

You shoul be able to use any sbk wheels except 1*98
i think their real axle is a different size
check out ebay or ducati-superbikes.com or org can't remember which it is
330 rotors should be worth the upgrade

Path of least resistance both ease and financial is actually going to be custom brake rotors... A 6 bolt mounted inner 330mm OD rotor. Not actually custom...just a matter of matching up a center of 6 bolts to a floating outer section that creates the desired OD
Problem solved..I think!

You can get six bolt fifteen offset three twenty rotors and drop the five mm spacers on the caliper mounts
That's what i have

Definitely get the masters, and at this point just get a 5-bolt front wheel. 848/1098/1198, S4Rs (and t), 749/999, new Multis, Hypers...
Rotors are a pregnant dog, and unless you have some attachment to the 6-bolt wheels, why not switch?
I can't remember if you need to bore out the stock lower triple and use the SBK upper triple, or if you can run both upper and lower SBK triples instead.

Problem with getting a new front wheel, is...I might be wrong, but I's have to get the rear too. I did just a bit of research and it looks like Ducati didn't make the 6 bold wheel in the five spoke design. I'm partial to it, but more so, I don't care for SBK wheels on Monsters.
If I'm wrong about the 5 spoke wheel with 5 bolts, let me know.

Hey I know that bike!! LOL...Hey my name is Darin, I brought my bike in about a month ago to have the tank replaced, 695 Dark...and I was asking you questions about your bike when I picked mine back up. I still have to say, I really like your bike...Still looking for the metal tank that you recommended.
Have fun with the upgrade! Wish I had the funds to do that to mine. Or do any kind of suspension upgrade.
Peace

i think the 999 runs the 5 spoke with 5 bolts for the front.
you can't use SBK triples as the offset is different IIRC and the bigger one's have mounts for the steering damper.
your stock lower bore is 54mm
the Ohlins I think is 56mm lower.
your stock upper is 50mm
the Ohlins is 53mm upper.
you'll have to measure for sure, but that means boring out both upper and lower. or replacing both.

Only 5 spoke 5 bolt front wheel will be BST (haha), the 999 was all the split Y-spoke. I personally like the Y-spoke design of the newer bikes a lot, so that's fine with me.
Looks like the only choice would be custom rotors. No 6 bolt OEM rotor was ever the right offset for the 330/15 radial SBK design.

actually the radial mount of the 1098 is built for a 320 rotor with 5mm spacers put on the caliper mounts to allow the 330 rotors
you can drop the spacer and run 320, which are available as 6bolt 15mm offset
