I have actually seen these idiots on the article mentions. They ride like a-holes, many on quads and motoX bikes. I for one put up with random "safety" stops if it means they get some of these a-holes off the roads.

Every motorcyclist rides like a hooligan at one point or the other.  Otherwise you're not riding her.  Just saying.  I am not saying it is right.  But I know every single rider has ridden like a hooligan at minimum once.

The way i see it if no one is around to see you do it, then it never happned.  So do all the trickery and hooliganism when no one is around or in an empty parking lot.
I live vicariously thru myself......

im okay with "safety" stops if ALL motorists have to stop at them. motorcycle only stops (or even just certain types) is not ok.

anybody ever seen a hooligan behind the wheel of a car? its not just problem with motorcyclists...

I'm not a saint and I've done my share of hooliganism but you have to see these guys to know what is going on. They ride 15 to 20 deep, mixture of sportbikes, stuntbikes, full on motorcross bikes (no lights, turn sigs, etc.) and quads. They blast through the streets sometimes on the sidewalks, surround cars and wheelie right next to moving vehicles. It's one thing to do the occasional hooligan thing but these guys are downright dangerous. I guess you have to live in the city and see the kind of stupidity to understand.

how long have you been riding for? if you're a seasoned pro, you can't lie to me and say youve never broken the speed limit and made a questionable pass. Because you dont get to label yourself, its that guy/girl who just saw you that says you are. Hell I wheelied almost half a block the other day,i call it fun cause there was only 1 or 2 cars on a 3 lane road!

as for the bike gangs. I didnt want to say anything, but baltimore is highly affected by this and so is harlem. On my way to school, ive seen 20 bikers wheelie across red lights with no helmets on and 5 seconds later i get pulled over to get my documents checked even though im obeying traffic rules.

Cops wont chase these guys down because they know it will cause more harm then good. They also know think that most bikers or hooligans so they specifically target bikes only. Because as political as it seems, the city is hurting for money and tickets generate a lot of revenue.

Really?  You mean like having your bike impounded by the NYPD when your inspection sticker is expired?  Happened to one person I know.  Of course he had to pick up the bike with a trailer since his bike was not street legal.  Or because you forgot your wallet that day (even though a computer check will show you are indeed legal)?  Or because someone deemed your license plate is not mounted properly?  Where are the quads and MotoX bikes in the photos?  I see two dirt bikes (maybe).  The rest look like sport bikes to me.  You are aware legislation was almost passed in 2008 that would have made it illegal to park a motorcycle on the streets of NYC unless the bike had the proper EPA exhaust emissions label on the exhaust system, third offense leading to a $5000 fine and confiscation of your motorcycle aren't you?
