clutch questions need some input please

i know i have to replace my clutch on my 2001 monster but would like some input on whether or not i have to replace my basket too. how do i know when the basket needs to be changed out. how deep do the grooves have to be before it should be done.  ???

really there shouldn't be much grooving at all.  if you have more than 1mm of grooves, that basket is done.  probably less.  too much movement in the plates trashes the clutch.
