If you're worried about seat comfort on a Ducati, you might be on the wrong bike. Seriously. They just aren't designed for comfort. Maybe the Multistrada or ST but not the sport bikes.
I'm not saying that to be rude -- most of the lineup is derivative of the race bikes... not much seat there.

To be honest I'm okay with the comfort of my OEM seat but the vinyl on mine is looking worn so I'm thinking of even just going the Luimoto reupholster option but I figured since I need one why not explore the options. Some of the other seat options look much nicer than the OEM seat and if comfort is improved then thats a bonus too.

Ahemmmm, Excuse me, I don't have anything to add about nut warmers but I do have opinions about seats.
I have two monsters. My 98 has a Corbin with a leather insert. It was a huge improvement over the OEM seat that is made with soft foam and slopes into the tank. Replacing the seat was one of the first things I did for that bike. A year ago I purchased a 2004 S4R and much to my surprise the OEM seat on this bike was as awful as the original on my 98 monster. This time I ordered a Sargent. It doesn't have a leather insert and the foam is softer. I wasn't completely happy with it when I got it but I worked with Sargent to have them adjust it and the result is excellent. Of course they charged me for the adjustments and as a result my bike seat is the most expensive piece of furniture that I have ever purchased.
Please, I am requesting that women forum members skip reading the following paragraph. Nothing sexist here, just sensitive guy stuff.
The problem with my seat has to do with changes in my body that have occurred since passing beyond middle age. Because of the forward lean riding position and the shape of the seat an uncomfortable amount of pressure was being applied to my prostate. The Sargent seat also had a hump located where the seat meets the gas tank.
The hump put pressure on my man junk. I requested the elimination of the hump and a concavity running the from front to back in the seat to accommodate my prostate. The concavity is about 3 in. wide and 1 in. deep. You can't see this but I sure can feel it. The mods to the seat turned out perfect. I am now good for several hours on the bike. It is so comfy that my legs and back now cramp much before my ass goes to sleep
. The hardest part of this whole negotiation with Sargent was that it was a woman with a sexy voice that I worked with. I actually called once to inquire and got the woman. I called back later, hoping to talk to a guy, but ended up with the same woman. At that point I thought, what the hell, I'm never going to see her so let's talk about my junk.

I've got the DP Low seat on mine and have been very happy with it. It's starting to rub off on the very leading edges up by the tank where I must hold on and rub with my legs when I hang off on the track. I've got a little over 5000 miles on it. It's nothing I can't live with and not really even noticeable unless you're really looking closely. I think it's more comfy than the oem.

hahahahahahahahaa....makes the whole thing right there...
in all seriousness, my preference is for the Sargent, but moreso because they have a seemingly sturdier pan that also has the nifty added benefit of fold out bungee hooks and a nice "stuff" tube for some tools or other kit you decide to carry in not a tankbag or on your person.

that cut/mod seems to make a LOT of sense....though I have no clue of your age in comparo to mine, it seems I am becoming more sensitive to these needs moreso as well...

I first purchased the DP low seat, which was a really nice change from the stock. Grippier, lower, and it did not have the tendency to shove my balls back up into my body. My seat is also wearing on the leading edge, which I attribute to legs up while riding, legs down at stoplight, with my jeans rubbing in both directions in the transition.
Then I bought a Corbin. Aesthetically, this is a gorgeous seat, with nice looking stitching forming a nice pattern, and I have the carbon fiber/asphalt mix that is really complimentary. However, it is higher than the DP low performance, about stock height, and a little flatter than I would like. But, I am within riding distance of Corbin and can take my seat down and get it reshaped, free of charge. I want the traditional "butt bucket" feel that Corbin saddles are known for. But even in the present trim it is much better than stock for preserving the "man junk". One thing about Corbin saddles is that they are HEAVY - big resin pan, stronger than hell, but definitely heavier than stock.
Best value was the DP low seat: only $250, which is cheap for anything from DP!

I just got the Ducati Performance comfort seat. I dont find it much differnt at all. Same shape and thickness of the OEM i would say. Looks great though with the Alcantara or whatever it is on the top.
