If anyone was ever thinking about getting a Shoei now would be the least expensive.  Thier are a couple stores on Ebay getting rid of discontinued models.  I think I finally found a helmet that has no bugs in it.  Typical, glad I got it but I wish I would have bought one a long time ago.  I ended up paying 310 for it in an auction.  Big but very comfortable.  Vents are the best part along with the comfort.

Finally replaced my RF900 with an RF1100 and I'm happy to have finally done in. More ventilation, wider view and a good bit quieter.

i had an RF1000, hated it.

you couldnt take apart the liner to wash it.

is it the same with the RF1100?

I loved my RF900.
HM, I'm fairly sure the RF1100 has a removable liner, check revzilla's site, they always say whether the liner is removable.

FWIW my fav lid for riding on a sport-ish bike with a forward lean is the Bell Star.  Light, nicely made and awesome aerodynamics in that position.  Its only so-so sitting straight upright though (like on the buell or dual sport bike).

The RF1100 liner IS removable. I haven't removed it yet but it said on the box that it is.

Anyone else thinks this helmet is noisy? I have the XR1100 (European model, but basically the same I think) and it makes way more turbulence noise than my previous RAID2.

I went from RF1000 to X-11. HEAVEN! A lot more pricey, but so worth it.

I recently bought the rf-1100 off eBay and paid 335.00 shipped. The helmet fits great but have to agree on the wind noise. Whenever I do head checks I get a whistling sound. It's a little annoying but I feel better knowing I have good protection.

Yeah I had the Qwest (TZ-X) then crashed and got the RF1100 (XR1100). Yes it vents better and looks smaller and sportier, but furc the wind noise is a KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Counting the days before I get my full license and can get a monster of my own.

I experimented a bit and it seems the noise is due to the lack of whisper strip. I mounted the whisper strip from my RAID 2 to the XR1100 and turbulence noise disappeared. The strip doesn't fit quite as it should but it works so...
