I don't remember having seen that air-scoop clutch cover before.

Tracked it down as an STM piece.

Anybody know if that little scoop is legitimately useful?

That's pure poser territory.

Hey, my bike has a carbon swingarm cover.

Granted, it was put on by the previous owner...

I'd take it off, but it's part of the larger fender kit, and then I'd need to pick up the stock clips for holding the brake line. Also, there's a giant 'AFAM' sticker underneath it which I find even less appealing. Tongue

That's pure "NOT poser" territory right there.  We can't be responsible for all of a previous owner's mods.

But hey, someone buying a CF cover for something that, face it, doesn't NEED a cover, just because someone wants to look cool, that is by definition "poser".

" pure poser?"....maybe, but a little critical...by the way, the Italian flag is Green White and Red....

A little critical?  Well, yeah, that was the point.  Perhaps "98% poser" instead of "pure poser" would have been less of an occasion for some to get butt hurt, but why bother?

Italian flag?  I don't know nuthin' 'bout no Italian flag, I'm surrounded by Mexicans.

On a serious note, spending money for a non functional item for a motorcycle only so it will look like you spent money on a non functional item is just silly.

CF wrap is the moto equivalent of a toupee.

Mons4R,

Having said (wrote) all that I have on this subject, the bottom line is that you go with what you like.  It's like one time many years ago I was dating a woman whom I though was just beautiful.  All the guys thought she was a dog.  One guy said to me, "Man, how can you date her, I think she's ugly."  I replied, "What you seem not to be able to understand is that I'm not dating her for your benefit."

She dumped me two days later (pregnant dog).   laughingdp

Still, think about it, why spend money and add weight to your bike with something that does nothing for performance.  It becomes ironic that we're talking about a carbon fiber part that adds weight.

Still, you gotta follow your own dictates.
