Yeah was going to suggest Claybar as well. It is a little spendy but works great! Try it on your car finish, especially on lighter colors makes the paint look great. Maybe Mr. Clean Magic Eraser as well...?

WD40 or turpentine removes most tar/tree sap turds. Do it soon, you do not want it to stain the paint.

Tarminator by stoner products is some really awesome stuff. I've never tried it with sap, but I wouldn't be surprised if it worked.

That Turtle Wax ICE kit is only $15-$20, and will last you a long time if you're only doing your bike.

![](http://pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/81908/300.jpg) It works really well. It says for tree sap right on the bottle. I would test it first to make sure it didn't affect paint, but it is pretty mild. I use it for taking tree sap off my hands after picking up pine cones in my yard. It also works great for taking sticker residue off of stuff. mitt

Another good one I've used when Goo Gone fails is Oops.
Be sure to test in an inconspicuous area first....

Tried the turtle wax bug and tar remover today. It says on the bottle that its for tree sap also... It kinda got it off and the spots are now much lighter, but not fully gone... Guess being left on the plastics for a few weeks made it worse..
Did any of you guys leave the turtle wax on for longer than a few minutes? The bottle says to leave it on for a minute and then wipe. Wondering if leaving it to soak for a few hours or a day will help.

kerosene. Or WD-40. Oil based solvents work fantastic. Use a microfiber cloth, let the area soak and return to wipe clean.
