I tried searching but I couldn't find much. I'd like to know what's involved in fitting the 848 style wheels to an S2R 800? From what I've read the rear bolts straight on but the front needs something? I have the brake upgrade already on the front (320mm discs with gold calipers) Also which wheels from Ducati's fit?

Thanks for any help and pics would be cool too waytogo

You are correct.  The rear wheel from a hypermotard, 848 will bolt right up, however the front end will need some work.  I'll wait for someone more technically savvy to answer that one but when I was looking into it this is what some were able to tell me:

The only one I know to be trouble is the front wheel... On the 848/Hyper (and 1098, 1198, SF for that matter) the spacers, rotors and rest won't carry over because of the different hub configuration. 5-bolt/15mm-offset vs 6-bolt/10mm-offset.

What forks do you have?  You may have to use SBK forks in order for it to work, but I might be wrong on that one.

When I was looking into this for my S2R, I ended up going with a 999 front end (triple, forks and 10 spoke front rim with stock rotor).  With a couple of spacers everything worked with my brembo gold line calipers.

Good luck with the transformation...I love the look of my bike with 10 spokes!

Cool! I have standard forks at the moment but have been thinking of upgrading. I would rather keep the brake set up that I have now (gold lines) because it's all new and would be a waste of money. I'll look into 749/999 forks and front wheel  waytogo

They are 5 spoke wheels which the S2R already has. I know they are Brembo's though and not Marchesinis. I might just get my current set powdercoated but I'm not sure which colour to go for.

It's a red/white S2R with white wheels, should I stick with white or go black or even red!

i saw a Duc with black rims where he had the outline of the spokes powdercoated red.  looked awesome.  Thought about doing that to my rims but with a gold outline of sorts.

What do you think about the 10 spoke rear and normal 5 spoke front? (For lazy and cost saving purposes)
