EBAY Integrated Tail Light Issue

So the light works great, but the connector on the harness will not "click" into the end on the light.  Anyone had this problem?  I have compared it to the stock one side by side, and while there are slight visual differences, dimensionally they appear the same.  We have tried shaving the plug and connector and still no love....

The "click" is heard when the tab on one side fully seats over a nub on the other. If the locking parts of the connectors are different it won't lock

Right- I understand that is what occurs when it clicks.  My question is: Why is it not fitting.  I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work and haven't found anyone online that has seemed to have this problem.

You mentioned differences in the harness, are the depths the same?

If you really want to use the tail light and the new harness won't mate you could always repin the new light with the old connecter.
