Hi all,
I need some help and I already looked in the local resources section.  Apparently I have a bent wheel, as in I must have hit a pot hole and I see visible damage.  It's not so bad that it's leaking air, but it looks bad, to me and I'm kind of worried that it might get worse.  I don't have stands nor the tools to remove the front wheel myself.  Is there a shop that I can ride to, have them remove my wheel, fix it, and put it back on while I wait for it?  I'm close to Pleasanton near I-580 and I-680 so close is good.  But am willing to ride and travel the distance for a good shop.

Thanks in advance.  Ciao!

Sorry to hear about that! Call up Nichols Motorsports in Milpitas and see if they can do it same day. But be prepared to leave the bike, in case they have to send the wheel out for repair.

I had Roadrider put some tires on for me once.  I can't remember if they have a whole shop back there or if they just do tires though....

How bad off can your wheel be and still be repairable?

You should take your wheel down to one of those places and see what they say.

I had my Streetfighter rim straightened by Gerry and it came out great. There is one small burnish mark, but you'd really have to look to see it, and he warned me it would be there before he started. My rim was bent about 3/8" out - it still held air, but definitely a solid ding. I hit a chunk of concrete about the size of a fist on the freeway.

Gerry at GP Frame and Wheel did right by me today.  Despite the fact that his website says that the wheels should be free of the tire and rotors, he was nice enough to work on my wheel that I rode in on.  He probably doesn't want too much business riding in on their bikes and waiting for the repairs, but I wanted to give him props for helping me out.  Sure he charged extra for the time and hassle, but I didn't really have too many options.  A nice ride up to Napa, wait, talk, watch, then pay and I'm back on the road again.

Gerry charges what I suppose is fair, does a fine job, and is a nice guy to top it off.

Glad it worked out for you Randall.

Nice! Gerry has a great reputation. Nice to know he'll help a fella out when needed.
