Is Red 696 hard to get??
«

I am a new member and being an observer on this forum for a while. It's a great site!
(except some hating/entertaining threads against new 696
)
Anyway, I put my deposit down for over 2 weeks ago, the salesman told me it takes about 2 weeks to get a red one. Till today nothing - and still waiting for a red one. The dealer has 1 white and 2 black in stock.... just no red. Sales guy told me they should have more coming in about another 2 weeks.
I am at Southern California, any experience when ordering with dealers, what's the average wait time?
One more question - does the bike come with the small bikini wind deflector as standard equip or sold as accessory? Dealer says they don't know, because it seems the second shipment does not come with it and i have to buy it.... is he bs or it's true?
Thanks.

Red's arrived two weeks after the first batch of bikes.. Should be coming available in your area very soon.. All the US versions of the 696 are the + model that comes with the bikini fairing and seat cowl. We have 2 red 696's in stock for sale today.. Your's should be there soon ! Congrats !

Depends on the dealer, some have them in stock already...
I've a deposit on one in LA... (wonder if it's the same dealer) My bike was supposed to be here last week, haven't seen it yet... they also have a dark and white avail.

Dealer in NY has more Red the Dark. My dealer mentioned that they receive shipment every 2 weeks.

They're trying to get you to pay for a piece that should be yours with the bike. I would be very wary of using that dealership, they don't seem to be all that trustworthy,,

My red 696 arrived at dealer on 5/20.
It took a couple more weeks for the Termis to come in and I took delivery last week.
Well worth the wait!

Atlanta Motor World has a Red 696 with the CF Termis for sale. They also have a dark 696 w/o Termis. I think the red one is under $9500 with Termis and the upgraded seat.

argh....
just checked the mail, and received a notice that "my loan application has expired and i will need to reapply"
indicating that it's now been more than a month since they approved me for the red 696 that will "be in any day now"
that i've had a deposit on since feb.
on the upside, if the only thing i really have to complain about is that i can't get the specific bike i want in the specific color i want right now, life must be pretty good
