796 - Engine light when high revving

Got 2010 796. I've noticed the Engine warning light (amber) blinks when i high rev. can't really tell what rpm exactly,
but it does happen constantly. it possible that it just happens every time i rev hard, not only when reaching some rev point.
besides that, it never turns on in any other case. and no Error code in the Error menu.
anyone ran into something similar?  is this some ducati thing?

are you sure it's not the rev limiter light coming on?  you'll see it come on around 8k rpm telling you that the limiter is about going to kick in soon.

new bike, take it to the dealer and have repeat the condition for them.

From my 796 manual:

8 ) “VEHICLE/ENGINE DIAGNOSIS - EOBD” LIGHT
(AMBER YELLOW).
It turns on in the case of an engine or motorcycle error; in
some cases the engine will be locked.
9 ) OVER REV. INDICATOR LIGHTS
It comes on steady when the first rev limiter threshold (*) is
reached. Starts flashing when the rev limiter is reached.

I think the OP made it pretty clear that he's talking about the amber CEL and not the red rev-limiter light show....

jkob the amber CEL illuminates when the ECU is flagging an error code of some kind.  Your dealer will be able to retrieve the error data and make a diagnosis.  As Raux says, its under warranty so let them check it out for you.

o.k, problem solved.
took it to the dealer and it turns out that the ORIGINAL ducati alarm is causes a lambda error code when high revving.
i've been told that they run across this fault before. we've just disconnect
the alarm and ran the engine to the limiter and everything is o.k again.
they told me it's just a false error and no danger at all.
basically, i don't really mind that, but it is a 2010 bike, and moreover, it's an original alarm which is bad enough as is
(just a shock sensor, no tilt sensor, no auto activation).
 ducati did make a progress, but it ain't no honda.

i just forgot to mention that the bike runs with termi full system with + the ecu.
