Got tired of the Diavel?

No, I think he just can't figure out which Ducati is for him until he's owned at least one of each.   [Dolph]

Injured my knee at work and was told I couldn't ride for a year so I sold the Diavel. The surgery went way better then expected and included platelet rich plasma treatment. So, four months later I'm good to go.

Glad to here it.

Ever notice that when you hurt your kneee on a motorcycle people tell you to quit riding, but when you hurt your knee at work no one says to quit work?

BTW, how is it?

First day (two short rides) impressions:

- more comfortable riding position then my last SBK but I see the comfort seat in my future.
- exhaust running under the seat is hot. Dealer said they are putting exhaust tape on that section with good results. I'll likely do that.
-first bike I've had that made me say "holy shit." When I did a roll on from 80MPH in third gear, the front wheel came right up.

You would have thought that moving the can under the engine would have solved the burning of the butt issue.

Big engine = big heat.  Then the exhaust header has to go out and do a 180* bend right under the seat in order to route down to the cans. I'm told it puts out more heat to the rider than an 1198 even though it has a larger radiator. I've had my butt cooked several times on an 1198 so the Panigale must be something else.  :o  I've wrapped pipes on a 999 and that helps but there is still the issue of a huge vertical cylinder head radiating heat and there is no getting around that. The head was the bigger heat generator on the 999 and the 1098/1198.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Yep, won't be riding my 999 here in Texas until fall. Imagine throwing a leg over your BBQ grill... pretty much the same thing! [popcorn] [bacon] ;)
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

I'm looking at buyng a 999 down here. Sounds like it will be tough to ride in the summer.

And badge-shaped.

I haven't been stopped in years. And no, my plates aren't confidential. I could change them if I wanted to but don't feel the need.
