Big engine = big heat.  Then the exhaust header has to go out and do a 180* bend right under the seat in order to route down to the cans. I'm told it puts out more heat to the rider than an 1198 even though it has a larger radiator. I've had my butt cooked several times on an 1198 so the Panigale must be something else.  :o  I've wrapped pipes on a 999 and that helps but there is still the issue of a huge vertical cylinder head radiating heat and there is no getting around that. The head was the bigger heat generator on the 999 and the 1098/1198.

Yep, that's the talk...the rear cylinder being more of an issue then the exhaust. I'll still get it wrapped to alleviate some of the heat.

Rode it about 100 miles today. Freeway, canyons, City traffic, PCH. Excellent bike in all respects but obviously the bike preferred the canyons. Very confidence inspiring. Insane amount of power. I haven't even come close to tapping in to it all the way. Likely never will.

Track? I would be scared out of my mind to unwind it fully.

I'm looking at buyng a 999 down here. Sounds like it will be tough to ride in the summer.
Only when you stuck in traffic.

There's always a possibility of sitting in traffic, but most people here just lane split. I would rather not.

I can't stop.  I've got an addiction.  I'm gonna get in trouble some day.

Down south they have less respect for bikes.

Well, you know, those bikes aren't for everyone...........
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.
