In docjake's case, probably to go into the flight warrant field.  Where else do you get paid pretty good money, and all the bennies, just to fly?

Not sure what MOS the 97E is, so can't remark to that...

Trust me, I know that first hand now  ;D  There are some very good to outstanding soldiers out there but as a whole... eh...  [bacon]

My story is a little long, but basically I wanted the MOS I got as a reservist, the Army had it, the Marines didn't.  97E = Human Intelligence Collector

Ah dude, that rocks!!  I am the AF equivalent to a 35G.  I would love to get into your line of work, but we don't have that MOS either, unless you go in as an AFOSI agent.

I got to work with OSI a few times. They're good to go.  I WISH we had the resources and freedom of movement those guys did/do.  We could have accomplished so much more.  I loved my job and we got some good results, but when I think about what could have been I get PTSD.  [bang]

Yea, I did some work with them as well when I was attached to a hybrid joint unit in Kosovo.  It was a good time, both work and play, and I wouldn't mind crossing over to do that job, but the AF won't release me from my current MOS unless I separate, and then they won't look at me for OSI if I were to try and come back in.
