I am the Navy equivalent of 68S, 68W and am in school for something the Army doesn't have an equivalent for the training I'm in now. Independent Duty Corpsman (Medical)...

The Army doesn't have that?  Kind of surprising that they don't; I know that the AF does.  I know a guy that works down here at JPAC that is an IDM.  But if you were going to go that route, why not take all the way and go PJ?

Ours is a little more intense than the AF. I think the AF IDM is about 6 months. Our regular IDC is 12 months, but I am a Submarine IDC student. My training is over 15 months. Then I go truly independent on my own submarine...
