I had one heck of a time getting the float bowls off as each screw stripped out and required drilling.

Without thinking, I blasted the float bowls with 1 shot of aerosol carb and choke cleaner  wanting to get an idea as to how much varnish I was dealing with.  I immediately felt as though I screwed up.

Will this damage my floats???

As always, thanks for the help.

I know for a fact that you don't want to clean them with an ultrasonic cleaner.  I ruined several floats that way, it created hairline fractures in the brass. It took about a week for the floats to fill with gas and it was easier to replace them than fix them.  Not sure about the aerosol unless the force was enough to bend them somehow.

I don't think you did any harm at all. [thumbsup]
