Arai Corsair V or Vector?

Competition Accessories has killer deals on the Arai Corsair V ($399) and Vector ($349). I ride a GT1000 and was told that the slight lean forward (19% lean forward) on that bike would not be good for the airflow on those. I'd need to be on a bike with a full tuck for the Corsair or 3/4 tuck for the Vector. True or not? If I can get decent airflow with either I'm getting one. Thanks for the help.

I think you'll probably get better airflow with the Vector in a more upright position. IIRC, the Corsair is better for a quite aggressive position.

Check out revzilla.com, they have a video reviews on almost all of their helmets. And they usually say which helmets are better for what type of riding and riding position.

Those are very good prices.  FWIW I used to be a die-hard Arai wearer, but imo they've been pretty stagnate while other mfg's have really improved airflow and reduced weight.  Still very good quality helmets, but you might also look at the Bell Star,  and Nexx XR1R carbon and AGV GP-tech and similar as I think they are probably a lot lighter than the Arai.

I have a Bell Star now and really like it.  It flows a ton of air.  Its a bit noisy when in a upright position, but still has tons of airflow.  It flows well in a forward lean and is quieter in a forward lean too.  The Monster is almost enough forward to be quiet, the Ulysses is upright

I had the corsair v but like the star better.  motorcyclecloseouts has the 09 model for 250.  u have to go one size smaller on the 09 though cause they run big.  i have the 2010 and like it a lot

Wow... $250 for the Star. That's hard to pass up. Think I'll give it a shot. How effective is the photo chromatic shield?

be aware that that's the 09 star which is the snell 2005 standard.  they changed it in '10 to the snell 2010 standard... fit is supposed to be a bit diff too iirc.

for only being $50 more, i'd probably go for the corsair... assuming they fit the same as the vector.

I loved my RX7, aero was good on the monster, even when sitting fairly upright, and it flowed a ton of air, but was loudish.
