Just buy a new pilot jet and don't bother cleaning the old one.

It will start much easier then.

You're right.  I just don't have the patience right now.  So I called a local dealer and had them pick it up.

As long as it runs come springtime (June for you Grin )

Seriously though, I've been able to keep pilot jets in great working order by draining the carb bowl after each ride or at the least if its going to sit more than a week. I drain it into a small gas can and pour it back into the tank Grin

I'm thinking a second front brake disk might not be such a bad idea.

bang head bang head bang head bang head

So the KTM dealer cleaned out the carb.  The pilot jet was clogged.

But they couldn't get the bike to run.  It would only backfire?  Valve clearances checked out.  KTM recommend they look at the timing.  Sure enough there was the problem.  Unfortunately the problem was more than expected.  The key on the crank shaft was ruined, a few teeth were missing on the starter and the starter clutch is on it's last leg.  Seems like a lot of damage for 3,000 miles.

Guess who's not happy?  I've started a claim with paypal.  When I notified the previous owner he thought the bike wasn't starting because the carb needed some adjusting to our elevation.

I'm having a hard time believing this bike ran well, was picked up by the shipper in Austin, delivered to me and the crank key was ruined during shipping.

There's a model with the compressor split from the horn: http://screaming-banshee.com/banshee-horn-warning-system/full-split-screamer-black-version-3.html

And if that doesn't work for you, get the chromed one and leave it in plain sight: http://screaming-banshee.com/banshee-horn-warning-system/full-banshee-horn-system-chrome-horn-3.html  laughingdp

It's not the bike, it's the rider. He could probably do that on a GoldWing!   laughingdp

On the other side, I probably couldn't do that on a 125 Enduro.   :'(
