Its not compulsory to have light on during the day. But I would advice to have them on during bad weather conditions
Before Honda CB125N
          Suzuki GS125
Now.   Ducati 620ie
          Lambretta Li150

Dunno Dock. The only thing I can find is this thing that says lights must an effective range of 50 metres at night:

I reckon you could pull that easy with a couple of good LEDs. Probably just need to get an engineers certificate. Surely with all your cool toys you have a nice engineer floating about?

And god knows monster lights don't work at night anyway.  [thumbsup]

Small'ish , Brian  [cheeky]

Im not going to ride at night so I dont think Il have a problem with that.do you know a good engineer Craigo, cuz I don't  ???

Some report state, there is no evidence that headlights during the day save lives . I think and many like me can probably say a loud exhaust is a better life saver , I wonder if mine will be loud enough  [evil]

The lights on law (19:01 I think) was compulsory for a few years then it was repealed (19:02) so your bike did'nt have to be hard wired 'on', now whether you must have a working headlight on  your bike for registration is a completely different kettle of fish. Why dont you ring the RTA.. Ooops... I mean Transport Roads and Maritime Services (Yep, I had to Gooogle its new name) and if you do that a few times I'm sure you will get a different answer every time you ring  ;D.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......

My monster has the headlight switch & I have ridden in Vic & NSW for the past 10 years with my headlight off. I actually find cars notice me more, as soon as the headlight comes on the games begin. Never have been sure if riding with your light off is legal ? Once in the USA the bike I was riding had a headlamp switch, so I had the headlight off. Well this copper pulled me over & went mental on me. Actually his tantrum was down right hilarious, but his ticket wasn't so cool.   [leo]  [bang]
