Exhaust; one warm, one cold?

So I noticed that when I'm warming my bike up in the AM, the exhaust coming out from one side is warm and the other side is cold?  Why is that?  Its a 09 M696.

I have that and I blame it on global warming.

I've heard it's normal, but I can't say I understand why.
My guess is it has to do with exhaust flow being uneven between the two pipes.
If it happened on a bike with two individual pipes and cans, it would need work...

Your mufflers are cold? like after the X pipe?

It is the Coriolis force.  If you take your Monster to Oz or Argentina, the hot and cold mufflers will reverse.

2009 M696  -  exactly the same issue.  I would like to hear a definitive answer. 

I wonder if I turned the bike 180 degrees if the issue would change sides?  ;-)

actually not a joke. i've heard of things crawling in the pipes. check for flow

as far as cold hot. if you look at the flow of the exhaust you'll see one flows more smoothly, less turns for the exhaust to snake.

Wouldn't that cause different backpressure? And therefore different performance between cylinders?
