Cylinder head cosmetics

The stock grey coating on my '09 M1100's front cylinder head is already beginning to flake and deteriorate into ugliness.

Other than choosing to no longer notice its premature deterioration.... what are my options if I want to pretty it up or restore the finish?

Finally, an opportunity has come along.
My horizontal head needs inspection and maybe repair, so I'm having it blasted and high-temp painted black.

If you have Sherwin-Williams paint in your country they make a product called 'Flame-Proof' that also has a 1200⁰ rating and comes in several colors.

not necessarily for application...

but you need to remove the damaged coating, and most use blasting as the fastest/easiest method.

I'd disassemble and clean for that.

Guess I'll follow stopintime and ignore it until such time as the head needs to come off for something more serious.

Sounds like the same stuff.
