waytogo Yes, they do seem to be a bit thin on the ground. We went to a VJMC show back in the summer, and she was the only Hustler there! If I knew how to post a pic on this forum, I would let you have a look at her. She's a beauty! Runs really well too, on Silkolene Fully Synthetic oil. Even though I've set the pump up correctly, there is still a pale blue haze left in her wake!  Evil

Yeah, Kawi didn't charge extra for the hinge in the middle of the H1 and H2 frames. Or the Z-1 "New York Steak"! laughingdp waytogo Dolph

Cry Last summer I was in the market for a new bike. My budget was £10,000. Out and about on my Hustler, I passed a small bike shop in Ilkley, W.Yorkshire, which looked to have a nice selection of bikes. In I went, only to be stopped dead in my tracks by a candy purple, immaculate '75 H2B. It was up for £9995. I told them that I'd think about it, and headed off home. Much soul searching took place, and in spite of many misgivings, I decided to get it. Life's too short to dither about such important matters. So, I hopped on the trusty Hustler, to nip over to the shop in order to do the deal. Upon arrival, I was astonished to see a "sold" sticker on the headlamp. "The dealer must have guessed I'd have it!" I thought to myself as I sought out the boss. Alas, He hadn't read my mind, he'd sold it to somebody else! In a fit of pique, I rode over to Ducati Leeds and bought a Monster 1100 Evo! With hindsight, probably the right decision. Still want one though!

I scored a set of chambers for the GT550 last week.  They don't look too bad in the pics.  Built in silencers, black, a few dents and some rust.  A little buffing, etc required but special parts for this bike are hard to find.  In the mail from PA and last tracked in Dallas!  wooo hoooo

Hopefully a little silencer re-pack and a re-paint is all your GT chambers will need. waytogo

mickeyvee,

Sorry you missed out on the H2. That also happened to me years ago on of all things a '74 Duc 750SS!! bang head Angry Do you have any idea how much it would be worth today?? Damn!! bang head

It was in the classified section of an old DIOC (Ducati International Owners Club out of Florida) newsletter in the early 80s. The bike was in the nearby state of Arkansas. I got the newsletter in the mail, immediatley opened it, saw the ad and made the call. All within about two minutes! The owner/seller answered the phone and said he just closed the deal with another DIOC member about one minute before I called!! More head banging!! bang head To this day I wonder where that bike is.

~ $60,000 for a clean one in the U.S. based on the last one at the Betor Auction.  Wink

Wonder whether I still have one of those DIOC decals somewhere from that period. Pretty sure I still have a period NCR decal somewhere. Must unpack some day...  Smiley
