After a small hiatus I actually rode the Monster today and further than just getting milk from the corner shop.
I had forgotten what an animal the S4Rs is, almost had a run in with the local HWP. Got the waive down coming into an 80 zone, seemed strange though cause of him popping out of the bushes! Anyways all good, did run it 30klm's into the reserve fuel light zone on the way home. Dam small fuel tank (had nothing to do with the use of the throttle) I have to say I was very rusty cornered like a beginner.....

Might be worth removing one of your sparkplugs and disconnecting the corresponding injector to completely disable a cylinder. Even with just one cylinder you'll probably be quicker than most of us.

The bike might be Suzy but the rider is very rusty right now.
I'd be a mid pack at best right now.

Well after picking up my fuel filter from Del Amo Motorsports in Los Angeles, California, I replaced the old one today.  Then notice the drainage part blocked, tried to remove it and resulted in this:

Cleaned up the wheels and front discs a bit. Bit of spit and polish.

Moved to the swingarm and noted that the underneath had lines from where the chain has rubbed a bit.

The chain slider that is meant to protect the swingarm had snapped off the bottom piece, leaving the alloy swingarm a little worn.

Ordered a newbie, will be here from Italy in 2 weeks! Thankfully next week in Melbourne is supposed to be wet. Only a week's pain in reality!

Good news is that being an S model, the slider (one piece complete with 3 new screws) is less than $30! The non S models had a two piece setup, the cost for the top piece alone was $40.

GK

Slider installed and chain adjusted! Bit of Plexus polish and looking good!

Well it wasn't 'to' the Monster and it wasn't 'today' ... but it was recently added to the shed (something to hang on the wall):
