Where? Details man...DETAILS!

http://hypv2141.appliedi.net/ssresort/

It's here^.
Years ago I was living with a woman, and she decided we needed to buy into it. Not so much for the location, but so we/she could trade the time and location for better spots through RCI. According to RCI... it's one of the better spots, and trade for other top spots is easy.

Needless to say, we split and she kept the property/time. She paid it off and never once used it. When she discovered I got married, she basically gave it to us as a wedding gift. So for the past few years, we've payed the maintance dues on it and have yet to use it, or re-up for the RCI option.

I'm currently looking into striking out on my own (work), and any and all extra money we have.... I/we could use.

She paid about 9 grand total for it, and I'd be willing to let it go for a ton less.... I just have no idea how to sell it, and I don't quite trust to TV timeshare sales people.

Trade it off and come to NH...

There's an RCI place about 10 miles from here. ;D

There are companies that are more than willing to buy from you, at a discounted price of course. I would check with RCI.

Figure out a way to keep and use it.

We have one at a resort in VA.  Traded weeks for weeks in St Maarten, Caymen Islands, Florida Keys and other places.

Once you start your own gig, you can give away weeks as a bonus or use it for team building.

I've got one through II (Interval International) in Grand Cayman.  When my ex and I first bought (1987) we went every year but after the divorce we agreed to alternate years.  We've both used it a few times but I have not been in a while.  Our "term" was due to end in 2012 but because of the devastation of the hurricane, and the current demise of the resale market, the Board of Directors has agreed to extend the terms of the time-shares for another 10 years.

Any time that I haven't been able to go, I have put it into the "bank" and taken the week that I have been given and gone somewhere else without any problem.

There are many time share resellers on the internet, but you will likely get MUCH less for it than what it's worth.  It may be worth it to keep it.  Consider that many people affected by the recession have walked away and defaulted on their maintenance fees so the resale market is flooded with inventory.  Depending on the location it may be good (Maui) or bad (Orlando).  You can just use your week at your home resort and not pay the RCI membership fees.  That may/may not be an option.  I have II and only pay for that membership when I want to exchange.  Keep in mind that your time share group (Marriott, Hilton, Starwood, etc.) may have first right of refusal to buy it back.  Be prepared to pay a healthy sales commission for any sales.  Since it's paid off, you have to evaulate whether the maintenance fees are still a good deal relative to what you could get on your own.  If you appreciate the extra space from a timeshare (once you try it, you may never go back), also consider most timeshares better/resort locations.  Another option is to rent it out.  Hopefully you could rent it and cover your maintenance fees.  If you still want to sell it, best of luck.

Ciao!
