I'm moving to Florida on the 20th.  A couple friends from law school started a company, it took off big time and they made me an offer I couldn't possibly refuse.  Street riding will suck, but there are a couple of MX tracks near-by and I've snagged a house on the water with a boat lift, so I'll get a boat and see if I can learn to wakeboard properly I think--will have to do something to stay cool in the summer.

Well good luck down there.....I used to go to Sebring a few times a year and Jennings is down there too.  I used to live in Pensacola, but really that is lower Alabama.  Where are you headed to?  I have been trying to snag a job in Orlando, but I need to get promoted and with a bad eval, that won't happen. :(

You are officially the third person I've heard of that's announced a move to Tampa/Clearwater, this week.  Prices down there can't be beat!

Good Luck!

We could even make it into a DMF event! DIMBY is so passe` now, let's do Butless Chaps In Daytona! [laugh]

My brother's been looking at moving to Austin, TX. Can't blame him, especially with prices there at a fraction of what they are in the DC area... :o
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Plus Austin's a cool town.

Good luck on the move and the new venture  [thumbsup]

I'll definitely check out the roof!  I'm just renting for the first year, but I still don't want a re-do of my current situation  [bang]

My dad actually took a look already and it isn't in great shape (but no leaks yet) :o But the owner has already scheduled to have a new roof put on soon, so hopefully all will be well.

The company is a real estate acquisition and management company.  Basically we buy distressed apartment buildings, get our management team in there quickly, get the occupancy rates way up and boom, cash flow!  I'll be playing with spreadsheets and such to formalize some of the acquisition due diligence and ROI modeling and will also probably handle most of the legal stuff (or at least handle the hiring of outside counsel). The office is in downtown Tampa, my house is in Apollo Beach (about 30 min south).

Austin is a cool town too  [thumbsup]

A new Diavel would be great for where you are going  [evil] As someone who grew up in Florida and gets back there quite often I actually enjoy some of the back roads of Florida. Over Thanksgiving I went down and rode over to Siesta Key then down to Englewood then back over to New Symrna to ride a couple of days with my sister, on my Victory of course. And don't forget the Auto Train goes from Sanford to Lorton and from Lorton as you know it's a shorts distance west to some good roads. - Gene
