You know it's cold when you rode her for 30 minutes and she still read only between 1 and 2 bars. DC Area...
Wind speed (my speed) = 75 mph
Air temp = 32ºF
Wind chill = 11ºF
Felt like = Brrr

It got up to almost 50° today. If it'd gotten into the 50s I think I'd have gone out.

(I've turned into a total ninny. I used to consider anything above 30-35° decent enough to ride.)

Of course if I'd ridden, I'd have had to have braved the ice patches and the sand and the road salt...

50s in the daylight, 30s when I go to work and when I get off. Atleast for three more months. Thanks to my brother for giving me his Joe Rocket cold weather suit.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Actually got out and rode a bit today. Nearly 60° out.

Still snow on the ground in places. In town is a disaster. Just a minefield of ice, sand, and grime. But the highways were fine.

This weekend was a bit of a fluke. It hasn't been that warm, and at night it drops down into the teens or twenties again. The ice patches are in shadowed areas that aren't getting enough sun to warm up and melt.

boo It was -12C last night. It reached a balmy +1 during the day, though. The bike is staying garaged until March at the earliest. I am an unapologetic wuss!

Um, if your speed is 75mph, that puts your windchill at "Off the chart Brrrrr!!"
