Since everyone seems to be giving 15% off dianese products , figured I look around.

I am looking for any FHE on any of these two suits, they are about $100 difference, Also any tips on how they run size wise. Never bought a racing suit or dianese products.

If there is any other dianese products you want to recommend please feel free.

I am looking for two-piece , so i can still use the jacket while riding around town.

Dainese's racing products are even more snug than their touring lines.
My own experience with this particular issue is that if you have anything close to a beer belly, order one size up and maybe even two for the suits.

My Racing jacket in size 58 is snug and not particularly long - vs - swimming in some US made XXL jackets (Speed & Strength and Cortech)

If you need extra long versions, the Draken has that option.

Here's my first hand experience (2 different Dainese 1 piece suits, gloves, boots, jackets, etc... and periodically I work at the D-Store in O.C.): The 2 piece race suits are not designed so that you then wear the jacket around town. No company's 2 pc suits are. The purpose for a 2 piece suit is the added convenience or comfort afforded for people who aren't shaped (for whatever reason) to fit into a 1 piece suit. They are still designed and perform as track-oriented products. This means the bottom of the jacket is MUCH higher than it would be on a street jacket (think about it... it's above the stretch panel in the back of the suit... that's high). Trust me, wearing the jacket by itself will look super goofy.

Besides putting it on (or standing perfectly upright) a 1 piece suit will be much more comfortable. Especially while you're in the riding position on the bike. You eliminate a seam around your midsection, it's lighter, breathes better, and stretches better (and for some of us, fit better).

If you answer (honestly) these questions, it would be a big help. Do you have any sort of "gut"?Pants and jacket size? What is your height and weight? (and age.. some people don't like putting on 1 piece suits). Do you plan to ride at the track or any spirited manner on the road?

I ask because there are 3 options:

Get leather riding pants that zip to the jacket. Any Dainese pant will zip to any Dainese jacket. Depending on the model you're looking at $500-ish for the pants and $500-800 for the jacket (pre-15% sale). This is the most versatile but understandably street oriented (heavier, air flow, safety, etc). Called a "3/4 zip" because to have this versatility you need to compromise somewhere... the front of the jacket/pants don't zip to each other. Legal for most beginner-level track days.

2 piece suits, which are great for, like I said, tougher shapes and/or slightly older or less enthusiastic people about putting on a race suit. Zips a full 360, legal for most levels of local/amateur track organizations.

1 piece suits, which are obviously where it's at for your riding gear (if you're into them). They are by far the safest, most comfortable, and most quality pieces. If you can deal with the "power ranger look" or whatever, they are great. They stretch out to fit you perfectly over a little time and have the highest level of armor and protection, blah blah blah...

I really feel Dainese products are super quality, awesome design and well worth the price (they are near the top end of this list as well). You can't go wrong. While MOST of their jackets fit the same (save for the ones with big arm gussets and stretch panels vs those without), there are a few different cuts to their suits. The Stripes and Laguna Seca are slightly wider or more relaxed fitting... the Redline, Trickster and Avro are a slimmer "race" fit. My Trickster had looser fitting arms though (very strange) so I had the arms taken in a bit to fit me perfectly. I haven't tried the Aspide myself, so I can't comment on that right now.

So yeah... let's find out what you should get (also Sportbike Track Gear and RevZilla review videos are pretty helpful if you're shopping online. Check them out).

Thank you $Lindz$ for the detailed response. I am 5'8" 155lbs no guts , I ordered the draken for a local dealer, as I can return and get a different suit if it doesnt fit me and they match any online price.

I have not done any track days at all, I am planning to do atleast one this year. I also wanted a racing suit for when I go for longer rides and such so not just track .

I will go try the draken once it arrives at the local shop and if it doesnt fit right , I will prolly have them return it and order me a one piece .

Thanks for the advice again.

No worries, glad to help. A lot of people like 2 piece suits, or at least go there first. When you're riding on the road you can unzip and take the top off when you stop for coffee or lunch, etc.

I just wanted to make sure you understood exactly how short those "jackets" are though, you won't be wearing it with jeans on your commute.

Hope it works out.  [thumbsup]
