Well this is even on the road. I got the crossfire SRS boots with a set of SuMo Soles on presently.  So much better on the KTM... can get a grip - knees are right in the cut outs.. just right. With the street boots just not as solid feeling, knees not right etc.

Got some of the pirelli MT90s. Found good prices  - just under $200 for the set. Figured they would do well around here. Presently there's a TKC 80 on the rear and a Michelin Desert on the front - more knobs that needed here and I bet the front would be done in a weekend or two with the paved miles it'd face.

- Care to expand that Loudon one? Care for collaborators?

Got some and now have an MT90 on the front so I won't die due to a full knobbie front not stopping the bike on the roads around here.... Gotta see about the rear

Fit the dirt tires and took on most of Pepes NOVA dirt road loop - running counter-clockwise (ish). I had to bail for home at snickersville to zip east on account of time - so I missed the creek crossing Sad maybe next te I run it the opposed direction  

Took a couple wrong turns/over shoots - found some 3-5 inch deep gravel. Do not like.

That place looks pretty cool!  Is it all jumps and fast pace or could a utility quad have fun too?

It's a pretty good place - definitely the best legal place that I'm aware of, that's within an hour or so of DC.  It's the former "Southern Maryland ATV Park" if you were familiar with that, although the new owners have radically transformed the place, connecting all the separate woods trails into a single, single-direction trail which is much better and more fun.

They have a decent track, with jumps and the ability to go good and fast if that's your intention.  But we ride the woods trails, which are an excellent mix of fast dirt, roots, mud & loose stuff, hill climbs, and even some sandy bits.  Most of the trails (and the track) are suitable for ATVs but there's a limited amount of single-track as well.

Yep... tools were involved and so was bad language. Short version is that KTM made some dumb decisions about with harness plugs. They used ones on an 'off road' bike that all to readily allow in water.

mercifully an easy fix once figured out. But a fix that shouldn't have had to happen.

On the fun side - we almost had a brand new 1199 all of our own after the owner left the key in the ignition and went into the starbucks @ River and Falls
