I have 4500 miles on my Monster 1100 EVO now and it has been stalling lately on cold startup (consistently) so I took it in to GP Motorcycles in San Diego, they tried various fixes including a new ECU but nothing worked so Ducati instructed them to check all parameters of the engine and return the findings to them for analysis.  Well, they found that both exhaust valves were on the tight side of adjustment (too tight in fact) so they set them properly and no more stalling.  In fact, no more of most of the ills I've lived with for the last 8 months!  It runs smoother, it doesn't buck, it doesn't stall, it doesn't pop on decel, it's like a whole new bike!  I'm starting to think the 14T and throttle tamer were completely unnecessary.

Anyway, if your bike is exhibiting any of these problems I'd recommend checking the valve clearances.

Oh, and a big thumbsup to GP Motorcycles and Jesse Fox, the service manager.  They worked through the problem and didn't quit until they found it.  Great dealer and great service!
