Before

After

What I did:
- Painted headlight housing with black high build primer.  Two coats.
- Painted INSIDE of turn signal with tinting paint (original clear plastic was turning yellow from the sun, the tint really covered that up nicely)
- Painted INSIDE of windscreen with black high build primer (painting the inside leaves the outside reflective/shinny giving it that dart tint look)

Wow, that looks great!  waytogo

I'm particularly impressed with how the turn indicators turned out!

While I was at it, I changed out the light bulbs too.  I went with the Sylvania Silverstars. They claim to be 4000K.  I wanted to go with a pure white look.  No yellow, blue, no purple.  I'm happy to say the Silverstars are pretty close to pure white.  The high beams were pure white.  The low beams had a tiny hint of yellow to it (doesn't really show in photo).  Funny that its the same brand and they can't even get the color to match.  Overall, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Low Beam (in person there is a bit of yellow to it, at least when its viewed next to the high beam):

Now remove the spacers on the turn signal arms to shorten them down... Looks like the bike has little arms that it's sticking out to help it fly.. Removing the spacers will tuck them up and make it looks a tad cleaner and all for free!

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the air—these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Also, try to find a pure white H5W parking light. you'll notice a bit of yellow off that. That may be what you're seeing on the low beam.

and black out the top triple and handlebar clamp

I actually did remove the spacer on one of the turn signals to compare.  I liked the longer look so I threw the spacers back on.  Call me crazy  laughingdp

That bulb fits the 796? Amazon is saying it doesn't fit 696/1100.
