So you are keeping the S2R and looking for a S4.  That makes sense to me.   waytogo

Of course, I love that bike.  I would sell some, but probably not that one.  It still needs work.. :-)

I would have to agree I've never owned a duc before the s4 but you hit a sweet spot around 6 then your peripheral vision goes blurred and I'm not sure whether it's speed induced or vibration but on molls gap I think there's a tree or rock with my name on it and the thing is you still go back for more.

its funny i owned a 916 years ago and a couple of years back got onto an s4 for stupid cheap money

around 5500 was when the 916 came on song

same for the s4

love it  but do miss the 916 style and handling

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

I think its the engine that makes the s4 special because it looks the same as any other monster at least thats what made me bye mine and its not for sale. I've never owned any other ducati so maybe that disqualifies me from comenting but thats what I believe.

Yeah, some guy was telling me his S2R1000 was faster than my S4, but it's not even close.   And with the Ohlins, my bike handles like a Mofo compared to the Sachs rear on his pogo stick.  Another friend has an 800, it's in a different area code, it's so slow.   Same dead shock too.

The S4's are really underrated, they get it on, and very few bikes will run with them.   On a tight road, they will run with pretty much anything.   All with a bit less than 100hp.

I want another bike, I'm really looking at a KTM Superduke 990R, or a standard 990, the Multistrada 1200s, or a Tuono, but the KTMs seem to be the best deal.  I'll probably keep the S4, since I'll never get much money for it.

Weren't the 916 motors rated at around 115?
