I just completed the motor for my next "custom" Ducati. F1 Endurance Tribute I tried to mimic the old magnesium covers on the race bikes. The bodywork arrived today and now I can start on the frame too. This is going to be a very cool retro endurance style Ducati.

For your 10 year anniversary you should try building a boring bike - that'll be a new experience

I loooooove endurance bikes. this is gonna be rad!!
I was thinking of doing something along the lines of the 86' bol d'or Ducati with my Air cooled 748 framed project but thought it would look weird on the frame. now im leaning towards the letterbox style bodywork from 70s English bikes.
as soon as you step away from using the "correct" bodywork, bodywork becomes the most stressful thing in a project. do it right and it can be awesome, do it wrong and it is very obvious that you bit off more than you could chew. im still on the nail biting phase of it...

I think the carburetor on the vertical head is facing the wrong way.

I'm afraid you're stuck with 750 or smaller heads if you want to accomplish that feat. A mod may be possible to bring that head up to "modern" 900 spec using two horizontal cams, though I suspect it'd cost a fortune, and put your carb right where your shock wants to be. Nice looking ride, despite the forward facing carburetor.

I did find a company in Europe that CNC a rear facing head for the 900cc motor, but the price is out of my range. http://www.redfox-grinta.com/?page_id=265
