Doods,

I am pretty sure I will get my exhaust creamic coated in the future so I'd like some input/advice on removing the entire system.

Are there any secrets that would make the exhaust removal easier (like removing the rear wheel or something like that).

I am confident that I could go to the garage and just start taking stuff off but there usually things that can make life easier but you don't discover what they are until you struggle through first.

I am just trying to save a future headache.

Thanks for any input.

I had the exhaust ceramic coated on my M696.  Exhaust removal for M1100 is much the same (except that you also have the exhaust "flapper gate" cables to contend with.....

..... and on the subject of the "flapper gate"  how are you going to deal with ceramic coating the M1100 midpipe?   The clear difference between M696 and M1100 is that ceramic coating the M1100 midpipe will render the mechanical flapper gate inoperable.  Not exactly a desirable outcome.  One possible solution would be to source a 696 midpipe - sans flapper gate - to fit to your M1100 system.  Yes it does fit, been tried by several, including me.  Going down this avenue will also require that you get yourself a Duc.EE device to keep your ECU happy.

I have considered the flapper but not enough to actually go out and look at it yet. In a perfect world I could find a 696 mid-pipe and go the duc.ee route.

Failing that I guess I would have two options:

1- Have it coated in a fashion that would not hinder its operation

2- Disabling myself and get the duc.ee

Again, I have not looked at it closely enough to know if one of my 2 options would actually work, but my favorite thing would be to find a 696 mid.
