Even Jud is not stupid enough to come in here guns-a-blazin. Anyway, I think I would have held off to get the red. I just don't dig white bikes.

Had my red hot for nearly 10 years. And the new owner has promised me dibs if he gets bored with her.

Debating on my first Multistrada adventure touring/camping trip either this weekend or next. I plan on hitting a bunch of state forest roads and forestry preserves (most of them date back to the Civilian Conservation Corps days).

The keys will be wild/primitive camping only and the most gravel and dirt to get to the spots.
So far my choices are Stephens State Forest in southern IA or Volga River State Park and Yellow River State Park (Painted Creek Division).

I have had a nice lightweight tent for some time now and it packs up small. I also picked up a new cold weather sleeping bag and will be picking up a more mild weather/backpack bag. Looking at the LaFuma Yellowstone Light backpack bag. It weighs ~2lbs and packs into an incredibly small size.
I also need to pick up some lightweight cooking gear including a small stove for travel.

Unfortunately, the wife unit doesn't enjoy the camping in tents thing and to her, roughing it is a Red Roof Inn.

Better find bigger luggage to fit a red roof inn on that thing

Santa Barbara Ducati turned me loose on one.   It's like a 500cc 2 stroke dirt bike, you go wheelying across intersections, you blast around town like a hooligan, and I want one real bad.

After you said that, I want one now too!

Nice bike man!  Congrats!

When my Monster 1100 EVO was in for the rear wheel recall recently I took their Multistrada 1200 S demo bike for the day and really really liked it.  Tons of power, great suspension, excellent chassis and brakes.  My only real complaint was the windscreen, it is adjustable but the only thing it adjusts is where on your helmet the wind hits you.

Yeah, the common fix is a spacer in the bottom hole of the stock screen or to replace the screen. I am replacing the screen as I want a wider screen as well.
Sort of looking forward to the Continental Twinduro TKC 80s in sizes for the Multi too. Definitely a more dirt friendly tire which is my only real complaint atm.

My upgrade/mod path looks like this:
Windscreen
Motech crash bars
TKC80s
case liners
Blazer HID driving lights
Replace all of the stock headlight bulbs with higher wattage/whiter bulbs

At some point I want a moto specific GPS but one that shows topo maps instead of just flat maps. I am trying to convince a seller on ADV to sell me his Garmin 2820 but...well I made him an offer. Let's see if he accepts.

I sort of want an exhaust...mainly for the weight savings but then plan on adding that much in parts...but the sound...yeah...still deciding.

I already wired in a second fuse block. 2 12v outlets and my wife is buying me a tank bag with a solar panel built into it for charging my phone on the road.
I want to wire the top box for 12v so I can plug my ultrabook charger into it on the road.
I want to make this my primary mode of transportation. My car is nice but can't take me down a fire road if I feel so inclined.
