Front stand alternative?

I have a pitbull rear stand, but no stand for the front. I need to change the front tire, but can't figure a stable way to get it off the ground.  I can't do the garage rafter ties I've seen posted here in the past.

Any creative (safe) ideas that won't break the bike or the bank?

Did some more searching and found some similar threads. Lacking jack stands or a jack, looks like a proper stand will be my best bet.

you can try suspending it under a stepladder.
just park the ladder so it stradles the front end.

I lift my bikes under a 2nd story porch with ratchet straps.

My way is very unstable and I don't recommend it but works for me and my M900, the front wheel has been off several times and did a fork service. A scissors type car jack bearing under the bottom of the exhaust valve cover as close to the exhaust port as possible, with a bit of cardboard for scratch protection. You have a pitbull stand with a much wider footprint than my centrestand, will be a tiny bit less unstable. Don't bump anything while the 'bike is suspended, pray there are no earthquakes. Loosen all nuts and bolts before lifting.

Thanks for all the feedback.  Since I have no stands, jacks, or straps, I'd probably be money ahead investing in a good stand.
