Has anyone installed one of the DP Touring Seats for the 696 yet?  Is it any less forward slanted, comfortable, or "worth" it?

Thanks

I picked up the DP seat about a week after I got my 696.  It does help out with the forward lean you are experiencing.  That was one of the few things that irked me about the bike, was the fact that my junk was constantly getting grushed on the tank.  The DP seat has thicker foam and doesn't have as radical a slope as the stock seat.  It also has some nice stitching and a gripper seat material on the sides.  Overall, I think it was worth it.  I picked my up from commoto.com.   waytogo

I put over 500km on my new DP touring/comfort seat today and am delighted to report that its vastly superior to the original item. Thicker padding makes it slightly taller than the original seat and much more comfortable after a long period in the saddle. It also eliminates 696 Gonad Compression as there no more sliding forward into the tank. The textured fabric on the sides also looks great, kinda matching the finish on the black rear alloy subframe......

Oh yeah, and best of all there's the sexy red stitching. I know, I am soooooooo shallow.

IMHO it's the best A$350 accessory I'm likely to buy.

Worth every last cent that Ducati is trying to squeeze out of you!  Probably the best mod I have done!

I'll add to the satisfaction list. Great buy and I think one of the more reasonably priced accessories out there.

worth it? - yes absolutely. surely more value for the money than most CF parts, exhausts excluded.
comfort is much better than the stock seat, but it does not resolve the forward sliding problem 100%. pot holes and longer downhill passages 2 up can still become a kind of unpleasant experience for the family jewels.
looks is great i like its more clearly defined lines much more then roundish stock seat and the stitching is - a sweet extra!

Yes, yes, and yes.
Agree with Motomoto though, 2 up riding can still result in compression of the 'nads. Aside from that, hasn't been a problem since I went to the DP seat.

GF has one, she swears by it compared to the regular seat. Just watch out sitting on it after it's been left out in the sun. Tongue

May be off topic, but i am looking at a 696 this week, and noticed the fabric on the seat seemed lose. At the very center it seemed to be risen off the foam, slitely. anyone notice this? kinda bugged me.

thanks

Are you referring to the stock seat or the DP touring seat? Either way, I never noticed any lose fabric. Meybe the seat was recovering from someone with big schwety balls sitting on it? Huh? Grin

Back to OP's question. Yes, awesome seat and best money spent! I liked it so much I took it off my M696 before I sold it.  waytogo

Yup - mine's like that... just as you say kinda risen off the foam slightly.  Still there on The DP Touring seat but to a lesser degree.  Doesn't bother me at all.
