G came up with the chasing butter excuse five years after I called her weird for doing random chunks.  Clever...but too late.

I hadn't heard the last option until DIMBY and the timing of the comment was just right to make us fall off the chair laughing.  Going to be harder to get volunteers to shuck corn next year.

Emily suggested it, and did so first, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's not the most unpleasant thing I've put in my mouth, but it wasn't anything I want to eat again.

Its much better with butter, salt, and a little pepper. Oh, and some honey for dipping.
