Non - U.Bracket Headlight Mounting Solutions?
«

Do any of you guys have your headlight mounted without using the U.Bracket?
I lowered my gauges and am not satisfied with jamming all the wires behind my modified U.Bracket and wanted to see what others had installed on their bikes.
What did you use? Hose clamps? CNC brackets?
Thanks in advance!

I used the fork clamps from CNC Italy.
Avaliable from one of our wonderful sponsors:

I had ordered mine direct from CNC before Bellisimoto had them in stock unfortunately, so I paid a bit more. I also ordered a 52mm size and "squeezed" them onto my 53mm superbike forks. Worked fine, no issues other than a puckered butthole while i was tightening the bolts...

I'll snap some next time i'm down the garage, should be soon. They are very very nice, but I did still chop up a u-bracket to get the brake line seperator/holder for the bottom triple clamp... probably not absolutely necessary.

I've got SBK forks on my Monster. If I wanted to go this route, does anybody know what size clamps I would need? My triples are 53mm, but the forks in between the triples go down in Diameter.. Anybody know for sure if the 50mm will work there?

Yeah, I saw that, I was just wondering if anybody knew the actual size of the forks between the areas that measure at 53mm, because that looks like where I would be putting my brackets. My bike isn't here right now so I can't measure myself.

Another vote for CNC Racing... Had them on my monster which had SBK forks...
The larger 54mm were just a tad too big where I mounted them.... Took a thin piece of rubber to fill in the small(like a mm) gap, and tightened them down...
The rubber was not visible, and the bracket was completely secure. Looked a lot better then the previous setup

going to depend on your forks. mine are from a 999. i can't really remember which size I ordered now that i thnk about it. it would have to be smaller than 52, as the large part of my forks is 53.
if i remember correctly, and this is all guessing, i did caliper the tapered part of my fork. I believe it was about 51.5mm, in which case I would have ordered the 50mm clamps from CNC and just squozed em in there.
do you have a digital caliper? that's how I measured mine.

Thanks Corey, I'll give that a shot, mine are from a 1995 916. The space between the triple mounting points is very noticeably smaller. Nobody seems to have those CNC brackets in stock in any other size than 50 or 54 at the moment though, so hopefully mine measure at 50.
