I'm up working in DC now and am staying just south of Old Town Alexandria.  Any nice spots for dinner over there that I should check out?

A lot! Park your bike by the water front and walk around. Bilbo Baggins on Queen St. has good beer.

Yep - throw a rock and you'll hit something.

Any sort of cuisine preference?
Price point?

It's been a while since I've seen an Italian presence in the "biker row" on King St. between Lee and Union.  Be prepared for strange looks, especially if your clutch is open.

is a starting point.

Yep head to King and Union and you're at one end of 'the thick of it' If you head west on King (away from the river) there's lots of stuff on King. There's also plenty on the intersecting N/S streets and also the parallel streets for a block or two as well.

If you go south on Union (river on your left ) there's a few more that way too.

If you don't mind a couple minutes drive you could go up to Del Ray - just look it up.

If you're willing to spend a bit of money, you can't go wrong here: http://www.restauranteve.com/index.cfm/home/

At the more reasonable end of the spectrum, the same folks operate a very good fish and chips place: http://www.eamonnsdublinchipper.com/
Other reasonable options:
Austin Grill at King and Columbus offers solid Tex-Mex;
Red Rocks near King and Alfred offers good thin crust pizza.

I'll second Chadwicks - decent beer selection and I highly recommend the Cajun chicken egg rolls and bbq sliders.

If you do make it up to Del Ray, check out Pork Barrel BBQ

If you make it to Del Ray, save some room for Dairy Godmother!

Nice, thanks guys.  I've seen a ton of places but no idea if they are any good or not and Yelp leaves out some jems sometimes.  No bike while I'm up here.  All work so I'm in my truck but I've noticed a lot of monsters around the area.

To answer the 1st question, I'm open to any food.  Really, anything!  And the price point is moot cause this is all on the company dime.

Well, anything is kinda a lie.  I've cut bread and potatoes out of my diet.  I walked by that fish and chip place last week and took every bit of my will power to not go in.  But most places have stuff other than sandwiches and fries.

But if it's good enough I'll go and eat it.  Like a great pizza place is mandatory indulgence.   Grin

I met that rider last weekend with a buddy who owns a black Sport Classic 1000.  His name is Will.  Nice guy with a great custom seat.
