Hey guys

New to the thread, anyways I am beginning the mod phase of my bike.  First service is in two days,  not to bad for a week or so of riding.  Been out a lot!!  Working on some chicken strips, well 2cm is as close as I will ever get I think on the wheels, unless I go get some training and go to a track.  Roads here that are good twisties are chip seal(meaning tar with river rock pressed down into it.)  and they tend to be roads that lead to logging areas, so not the greatest of traction, beat to hell, and guys in big rigs cutting corners.

Anyways bit off topic there.  So I am looking at some mirrors and like everyone else the stock mirrors suck and just look horrible.  Anyone use any of the Rizom bar end mirrors on here?  I'm specifically looking at these two options.  Rizoma class Retro mirror and the Rizoma reverse retro bar end mirror.  Are they any good?  The stock ones vibrate like heck, sure there is going to be some vibration, but I would like to if at all possible have mirror that looks well and functions at the same time.   At the same time what size of bar ends do I need to order for a stock 796 handle bar on a 2012 monster, also any idea on which rizoma bar end to get to mount those mirrors?  I've contacted monster parts but have yet to hear anything back from them.  For the life of me I can't find this info out anywhere.  Probably right in front of me eyes but I am not finding it in a search.    I can find the 696 but nothing for the 796, presume it is the same though.

There will be more questions in the coming days as I start to get everything set to order, appreciate all the help and feedback!!

Happy riding!!

Steve

Mounted them underneath?  Hmm never thought of that,  do you find you have to duck your head or nod to see the mirrors at all?  Looks good by the way.

Using Rizoma Spy-R mirrors with the Rizoma bar end adapters.  They are rock solid, zero vibration and unlike stock actually allow me to see what's behind me.  They are ridiculously good looking too Smiley

Ordered mine from PJ's Parts and got here quick.

As for what size, PJ's Parts tells you which adapter you need.

Got Rizoma bar ends for my 796 from Jeff at Monster Parts, they come with multi sized bar end inserts, you use the smallest rubber bungy bungy thing and they are rock solid.  So solid I can't get mine out  Smiley

If u need to get them out just loosen the hex bolt in the bar end then tap the bolt with a mallet to free it from the friction assembly, will slide right out then.

Excellent news, I was looking at the monster part ones and was unsure what to get.  I figured they were standard sizing, but given my track record of buying the wrong part I figured I'd ask first. To many times i have bought what was suppose to be right part for dive gear only to find out that they changed it slightly no it is a 199-b instead off a 199, grrr and the typical response was no refund as it was out of the package.  Needless to say I stopped all business with that dive shop.

thanks again!  Once I get her all set up the way I want I'll post a few pic's of the final product, well what I believe will be the final product, I suspect I'll just keep changing things.  Does this ever end?

Oooo, the  spy r's look pretty slick to. Damn. U guys aren't making this any easier of a decision. No far adding in other options. I want them all. Wonder if i could install three sets?  Now that would be interesting. Perhaps buy the ducatinurban light on the front, all futuristic looking, perhaps aliening eith the exta mirrors. Haha.

K no more options please its down to the spy r's late xoner and the retro's i think now.

As a city rider I insist on a convex mirror. I have the reverse retros in convex and they are great.

Looks like you already bought. Monster Parts is great but for Rizoma it's hard to beat PJs Parts.

Yeah U checked them out as well, price wasn't much difference. Now compared to Canada, it was about a hundred less with shipping/duties/etc.

I always try to but local and support the economy as long as the prices are fair and with reasonable mark-up. I give them a chance but unfortunately nobody i contacted could meet the us price.

The money i saves buys me a tail chop when i find the one i like the most, well goes towards it anyways.
