Short Pushrod ? - Ducati Performance Slave Cylinder

I recently purchased a ducati performance slave cylinder for my 1997 M900. I think I have bled the slave correctly, but I have no movement of the clutch pack when I work the clutch lever.



"It's important to note that Ducati slave cylinders are not interchangeable between the pre-2001 and 2001+ superbikes because the push-rod length is different. When Ducati solved the slave cylinder leakage problem in 2001, they modified the slave cylinder on all bikes, except the SPS. That modification to the housing design required the use of a 10mm longer push-rod. Some of the cylinders on the market come supplied with a 10mm spacer so you can use it with both push-rods."

Should I have the local machineshop make a 10mm spacer the same diameter as my clutch pushrod, and drop this in the cavity in the center of the slave clyinder?

Can I purchase a 10mm longer pushrod from a 2001+ monster (750?) and replace my existing pushrod?

Yes on the longer pushrod and maybe on the spacer if the slave cylinder will securely hold it. Depends on the design.
If posdible I'd get my money back and buy a slave cylinder which has a spacer included or get a used, late pushrod.
How much was the DP s/c? Just asking to compare prices to Yoydyne or Oberon, etc. They both come with a spacer.

Returning the cylinder is not an option. Perhaps selling it as used

I found the pushrod from a 2001 Monster 900S, which should be 10mm longer than my stock pushrod. (P/N 117.2.006.1A). Do you know if all of the orings will fit in the correct spots?

You can lay the pushrods side by side and see how they line up.
