Alright,

So I caved and sold a bunch of my tad gear I wasn't using and decided to buy me a motorcycle specific backpack.  All I can see if this back is amazing, I was torn btw the R25 and R30, but found out the waterproofing is just a dry bag, so I opted for the nicer looking R25.  When I first out it on and adjusted I was worried it wouldn't fit around my chest.  I have a 52" chest and 38" waist, The lower straps are adjusted all the way out with my jacket on and she just barely fits.

Anyways this is absolutely amazing comfort to ride in.  I decided the other day to use my fast pac edc(Tad) to drag my rebreather tanks to the store(yes I know dumb carrying compressed gas on your back and on a motorcycle) and man was it ever killing my back and shoulders on a 10 minute ride. Picked up the tanks today with the R25 and it was ilke they were not even there(40-50lbs)

Just thought I would drive my shout out to a great bag, and the ultimate in comfort.  Price is a little high, but I have learned a long time ago yo get what you pay for, and this puppy is worth the price in my books.

I'll second that!  I wear an R25 every day when I ride to work...it is loaded out and feels like nothing!!!

And Revzilla started carrying Kriega, gonna get a US30 Tail Bag next.

+1 on the R25, though I just shipped mine to an ADV inmate as I use tank bag or  topcase instead.
Outstanding design to carry your shit.

Yup couldn't agree more. I was a shopping fool last night jamming anything and everything I could into it. Even stopped at the beer store for a few beverages to see how it handled with
Odd loads. the cinch straps are nothing new on bags, but it being able to cinch right down is perfect, and the strap holders are a nice touch. The 8 bottles(one litre each) I was worried about jiggling around etc, i had the cap blow off one before(man down, luckily i managed to save about 2/3 before I was cited for alcohol abuse with my old bag), anyways not a single bottle shifted or clinked around once i got it on my back it never is rustled. It literally hugs tour back. Now if i could only put some
Plastic arms on it To mimic a female passenger(whoops you guys weren't suppose to read that) ;)

Seriously though i had my doubts when i picked it up at the shippers. Seemed really flimsy but after a few days of riding I am thoroughly impressed. It took 45 lbs of compressed gas cylinders(dumb i know), 8l of beer, and a entire grocery store(well not quite, but almost), albeit not in the same load, but i never even knew it was there.

I've read a lot where people have issues with wearing it single strap etc, but i never had an issue, I could understand what they are talking about. I'm suspecting a lot if it has to do with size of the individual. I'm not your average sized man by any means, thick from years of powerlifting and rugby(I was told it looks like a gorilla is riding a
Monster, go figure). With it unclasped and walking around, the straps slide out to my shoulders and the bag lowers. More like when we were kids and wore the straps way to loose and the bag hung over our butts etc. was comfy just not how the bag is designed to be carried. Now would i do a 2 hr hike like that no, nor would i with the bag cinched up. That is not at all what it was even designed to do, although short hikes etc, I'd probably due, just nothing serious, I don't think it would have the stability for walking, like it does on a
Motorcycle. Although I could be wrong here.

Well i'm off to do some riding. Us unemployed guys need to blow of steam and make all you normal people hate us for doing it. I know my neighbours think I'm a drug dealer or something(never see me
Leave for work or when i do its to some exotic shit hole like africa to build a mine or something for months then back, and a ton of packages arrive and I have a bunch of rather expensive hobbies)  Don't worry I'll be back to employed here soon enough once this contract goes through, sigh!!!  :)

Heh I just suggested they start as part of last months contest. Guess I felt a disturbance in the force as I'm sure it wasn't my suggestion that kicked it off

I've had mine 3 or  years now.  Essential.

Got it after reading a blurb for it in a British bike rag.  the quote that sold me on it was "pricey, but indestructable".  Typical brit fashion!

The more i use this bag, the more I'm in love with it. Although I've been buying a lot of groceries lately testing it out. Not sure if i'll ever work my way through the food I've bought over the past few days.   Well I'm food for atleast two weeks now.

Any suggestions where to get the best price on Kriega stuff?  I'm looking for the US 30 Combo and the R25 backpack, but don't want to pay more than necessary.  They're already way overpriced as is, IMO.  Thanks. ...Steve

I bought mine from kriega Canada. The actual dealer is the bmw dealer in harvie heights. Mountain motorrad. Ask for Jenn. The prices are the same all over. You may find a deal here ir there but generally they are the same in the s and canada(which is damn odd, usully its way cheaper in the us)

Keep in mind the r30 is not waterproof it is the same material as the r25, it just comes with a dry bag you can jam stuff into. I also dislike the closure of the bag(ruck sack /dry sac fold over and clip), so i went with the r25 and a pocket cube.  Bought a cheap sealline dry sac(light weight, with white interior, 25l) was only 8 bucks on sale here in Nanaimo. so if it rains i can throw my valuables/comp etc in.

Actually an even cheaper route is to go see a engineering firm and ask them for a few soil sample sac's. Not the cloth ones but the pvc plastic ones. They are tough, clear, and dirt cheap no pun intended. And if you rip it ur only out like 25cents  All you need to do is fold over the top and no water will get in to the bag. These dry sac style closing are only really good if you are going to be submerging the bag or there is risk of it happening(kayak, canoe, hiking, etc). With rain that is not gonna happen unless you slide on your back through a puddle about 6" deep and lie in it. But then I highly doubt your computer or anything would have survived the impact anyways.

If you have anymore questions fire me off a pm.

Whoops misread u said us30 not r30 or r25. My mistake.

Other info still applies for the r25 though. Just get a soil sac or dry sac and voila, one dry bag.

Thanks, I had contacted motorrad already and have noticed that the MSRP seems to be firm, but figured there must be a few places selling for less if you call.  I'm close enough to Motorrad that I may just ride out and see what they're like in person, if nobody has a more affordable option for these.  Cheers. ...Steve

SteveO.

Thanks for the advice.  I ended up riding out to motorrad this morning and bought a US30 combo and an R25.  I didn't intend on buying both but after trying on the backpack, I had to buy it.  This thing is the king of all bags!
